The Mayor of Piraeus, Mr. Ιοαnnis Moralis, and representatives of Piraeus Tower S.A., the implementing entity of the project consisting of Dimand, the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), and Prodea Investments, illuminated the iconic landmark on Thursday, December 14th. The event took place for the first time on the 3rd floor of the Piraeus Tower in a modest ceremony.

The revitalization of Piraeus Tower is celebrated this Christmas with a special light art installation called “Rebirth,” created by the Danilof Studio team. Sequences of colors and luminous intensities unfold across all the wings of the Tower, interpreting the new facets of the Port’s nighttime landscape in a spectacular way. “Rebirth” draws inspiration from abstract painting and the light and space movement of the previous century, creating new images symbolizing the colorful and luminous future of Piraeus.

At the end of the festive period, “Rebirth” will transform into the permanent white lighting of Piraeus Tower. This lighting design has been carefully studied with environmental responsibility in mind: Gentle intensities of white light will outline the facades every night, with protection against light pollution and energy consumption as low as that of a small household air conditioner.
